The idea behind Hushd began with a straightforward solution: lockable phone pouches designed to temporarily limit phone usage in schools, workplaces, and events. This simple yet powerful tool empowers people to take back their time and attention, promoting richer interactions and stronger communities.

The Hushd phone pouch is a small, lockable case that securely holds a student’s phone during class time. Each morning, students will be required to place their phones in the provided Hushd phone pouches. The phone pouches remain locked throughout the class period, and students can only unlock them using a designated Hushd unlocking base located strategically throughout the school.

Hushd phone pouches will create a more focused and conducive learning environment for all students. Research indicates that reduced access to personal devices during class time can improve academic performance, attention spans, and overall student well-being.

In order for students to remain engaged in their learning, schools request that
parents/guardians refrain from contacting their child during the school day unless
it is an emergency. Contact the school reception to reach your child.

In case of an emergency, we direct students to ‘safety first’. School staff will be
able to unlock a Hushd phone pouch in a matter of seconds for students once they are in
a safe and secure location.

Students are in possession of their phone – in their Hushd phone pouch – for the entire
school day. We advise students to store the phone pouch in their school bags where it is
completely safe.
